Sway

My summer anthem is Sway. The song prowls into my psyche with a mambo beat and transports me to a 1950s cocktail lounge. Dean Martin made Sway a hit then. It continues to be performed and recorded in various ways, from sultry to hip hop. I love them all. The first two lines tell the story: “When marimba rhythms start to play / Dance with me, make me sway…” It is an invitation to my hips to get up and get moving. I just need something swirly to wear from Jane’s Vanity.
