The Color of Cognac
I have a rose that is the color of cognac. It is an old-fashioned one, with raggedy petals. Its deep first shade will turn to a pinky yellow. But, for a day, its mellow topaz is unforgettable. And reminds me of the rich golden silks from Jane’s Vanity.
The actual color of cognac would be interesting to discuss over a snifter. Martell notes that it comes in an endless number of hues. Neutral and earthy, it could range from pale amber through copper to tan. A hint of red might underscore. Let’s explore the JV possibilities.
Gilda & Pearl are at the ready with a collection appropriately titled Midnight Cognac. Each piece is constructed of butter-soft antique gold silk adorned with black French Leavers lace trim. Choose from the jazzy Camisole Set, the classic little Chemise, or the versatile skirt. And, for an Old Hollywood touch, add the Long Robe with vented kimono sleeves.
Camille Roucher uses a lovely black and gold floral for her Gold Pearl collection. The Lingerie Set features a shaped underwire bra and a sleek bikini panty with lace accenting at leg. Add to the set with matching High Waisted Panty or longline Garterbelt.
Lise Charmel rounds things out with her Splendeur Soie Amber Collection. The Babydoll laces up the back and features black lace accenting at front neckline and hem. The Camisole, with its own black lace scrollery, is the perfect layering piece. Either would flatter the matching Lingerie Set.
Like a sunset that deepens and fades, the colors of cognac are a delight. Jane’s Vanity helps you capture their golden essence.
