No plane ticket necessary to mingle with the elegant shoppers on Milan’s famous fashion streets. The work has been done by enterprising videographers. Their monthly Youtube clips are mesmerizing. Silent except for street noise and running about 30 minutes, they offer a parade of stylish Italian nonchalance. Let’s stroll along (and pretend we don’t notice we’re on camera!).

If you were lucky enough to be in NYC this spring, you might have visited the Frick Collection to see Gainsborough: The Fashion of Portraiture. And with it, a collection of engravings titled Ruffles & Ribbons: Fashion Plates from the Time of Marie-Antoinette. These exhibitions had us wondering about the state of lingerie embellishment today.
