Morning Promise
From a tiny apartment: I like to imagine that I’m waking up in a hotel suite. Just in case room service drops by with breakfast, my morning attire is one of Emma Harris’s jewel-toned silk slips. These vibrant pieces light up my face and make me feel serene as I apply make-up, etc. They create a special moment.”
Poolside, Arizona: “My habit is to put on lipstick before I leave the bedroom–it makes a difference in my outlook. Then something cool and comfortable for this desert climate. Emma Ducci’s new Santorini Silk Kaftan is perfect. As are dresses from Zoelle: the Malachite Butterfly Reversible Hi-Low Dress or the Malachite Butterfly Empire Dress with shirred elasticized waist.”
From an early-riser: “After my stretching routine and shower, I need a little quiet time. I wrap myself in an ethereal long robe and sit at my vanity table. It is hypnotic. I think about my day, the people I love. Today I wore my happy new Kobe Aka Robe from Karma on the Rocks in a juicy orange cotton print.”
Dashing by, with coffee and eyebrow pencil: “As I zigzag from kitchen to bath, I like something silky floating behind me. My choice is Emma Harris’s Rochelle Orchid Robe–over a bra and panties. The pale purple looks well with its matching Rochelle Orchid Lingerie Set, but also with a sexy black JV bra set.”
From Emily: “I tend to spend my mornings in a beautiful robe. They are endlessly comfortable, modest enough that I can run outside to grab the dog, and easy to slip off once I’ve chosen my wardrobe for the day. In the bleak days of winter I often wear Gilda & Pearl’s stunning Garland robe; shoulder seasons I tend to reach for Christine Vancouver’s Erte; and since it’s been blisteringly hot I’ve been mostly wearing a silk crepe kimono from back when we had the brick and mortar store.”
From Jane: “I have a rather large cache of Jane’s Vanity options & I wear them all to function in a multitude of ways. This summer season so many sheer short & long wraps glide out the door with me to complete my daywear. I love the prints to get my morning swinging along. Pajamas in the summer are easy: I can step out the door in them & walk the dogs in the neighborhood.”
More pajamas: “Only on Sunday morning do I have the luxury of time. Then it’s a new jigsaw puzzle and silk pajamas! I love the delicious cool feel of the Tokyo Crane Silk Pajama from Karma on the Rocks. Its lightweight pale blue crepe de chine features a puzzle-like yellow crane pattern with contrasting yellow floral trim.”
So that’s the story, Morning Glory. It’s never too early for Jane’s Vanity!
