Soie ou Soir?
Soie ou soir? Which is it: silk or evening? Two French words that sound so like. And, in my mind, they are inseparable. Sleep issues are a thing of the past, since I started wearing silk camisoles to bed. Is it the gently insulating fabric, the sensuous weight, or, perhaps, the pretty colors? Like a little secret. Suddenly, it’s morning.
Evening silk fills me with anticipation for being awake, too. Like Winston Churchill, I will wear pink silk underwear all day (his skin was very sensitive). Then, as the sun sets, I perk up my evening with adventurous silk possibilities.
Imagine Vannina Vesperini’s Opera Gilded Gold Camisole Set to start the proceedings, or end them. The ultimate mood elevator.
Gilda and Pearl’s Gina Camisole Set in black is hardly basic. Perfectly relaxing under a blazer for cocktails.
Olivia Van Halle’s Mimi Ink robe would be casually cozy over flowing pants. Stay at home tonight?
Morpho+Luna’s Ines Floral Pajama is ready to go out, just add heels, chandelier earrings, and a dashing coat.
And a gown? Such a lovely word. Splash for Christine Vancouver’s Peacock Glamour Gown in silk charmeuse. See where it takes you.
As Francoise Hardy would say, “Bon Bonsoir,” mes amis! En soie!
