Dear Emily
When asked what to pack for a romantic vacation, JV’s Emily Tate brightens right up. Here is her sisterly advice, to help you look your sexy best.
Start with a gorgeous robe. It adds a bit of mystery and is handy for the hotel room, the pool, even as an evening wrap. Gilda & Pearl’s Chelsea Garden Silk Robe is short and sweet, in hyacinth pink with embroidered flowers of pink and green. Or, choose the sultry All That Glitters Jacket in black silk chiffon with sheer embroidered accents at shoulder.
Pack a showstopper, something with a little va-va-voom. A baby-doll set, perhaps? Gilda & Pearl offer a match to their Chelsea Garden Silk Robe with the charming Chelsea Garden SIlk Babydoll. For something in black, choose Elise Anderegg’s Exquise Babydoll that combines gossamer-thin floral lace at cups with a whisper-weight silk georgette body.
Take along favorite pieces that feel the best. This simple approach will boost your confidence and sense of possibility. You might select a favorite sumptuous gown: the Darwin Silk Gown from Christine Vancouve in navy blue animal print, or the Ultra Blue Peony Silk Gown from Violet & Wren with its pooling hem and dramatic black lace inset at back.
If your companion were to ask Emily for advice, she might reply: “A gift a day.” From Jane’s Vanity, of course. A chemise is a good place to start. GIlda & Pearl’s Evelyn Chemise is made entirely of black polka-dot lace and has a plunging back and criss-cross straps. A scarf would be fun too. Check out the beauties from Ika Paris and Klements.
And remember, wear it with style. Let your walk and your smile say “Who me? I run around like this all the time.” Your light heart is the sexiest thing of all. Strut your stuff in precious items from Camille Roucher (who has moved on from lingerie design): the DNA High-Waisted Panty with covered buttons down the back, the Narcisse Embellished Lingerie Set with hand-stitched black silk flowers, or the Gold Pearl Lingerie Set in gold and black floral ikat print that makes you feel like a tigress.
Thank you, Emily! JV makes packing part of the fun.
